POM 100ST杜邦，Polyformaldehyde, also known as polyoxymethylene, or POM, is one of the five engineering plastics. Its regular molecular structure and crystallinity make it have excellent physical and mechanical properties. It is a thermoplastic resin with excellent comprehensive properties. It has high modulus of elasticity, hardness, rigidity and mechanical properties in a wide temperature range. Many occasions can replace steel, copper, zinc, aluminum and other metal materials, has been widely used in industrial machinery, automobiles, electronic appliances, precision instruments and building materials and other fields, known as metals in plastics. With the development of low emission products developed and produced by Dicona Ticona and DuPont, the number of POM used in the field of automotive interiors is gradually expanding. These new products overcome the problem that POM products will release odor, thus enabling automobile manufacturers to meet higher standards of automobile production. The field of transportation has always been the largest consumer market for POM. In Europe, the market accounts for about 43% of POM's total consumption. In automobile production, the main applications of POM include the manufacture of windshield wiper system, speaker cover, ventilation fence, fuel tank cover, fuel pump housing and seat belt mechanical parts. At present, POM materials have excellent fuel resistance, so POM has been applied in many new applications, such as pipeline and duct system, fuel supply components and so on.

POM第二大消费市场是工业交通领域，占欧洲POM总消费量的23%；电子、电气消费品领域位列第3，占20%；其余14%的份额主要消费在液压系统管路管道系统和加热系统、建筑和医疗设备等方面。受电子电器、汽车等行业需求高速增长的拉动，2003年以来我国POM 生产、需求均保持快速增长。2003～2008年产能年均增速达20.6%，产量增速达45.1%，表观消费量增长率为9.2%。2008年总产能为17.5万t/a，产量为13.1万t，表观消费量为26.7万t。2007年以来，由于国外产品的大量涌入，造成国内POM市场价格低于周边地区，进而引发国内POM出口量激增。受电子电器、汽车等行业需求高速增长的拉动，2003年以来我国POM生产、需求均保持快速增长。2003～2008年产能年均增速达20.6%，产量增速达45.1%，表观消费量增长率为9.2%。2008年总产能为17.5万t/a，产量为13.1万t，表观消费量为26.7万t

韩国工程塑料POM均聚甲醛1959年发明，由甲醛溶液与异辛醇反应，经过脱水、热裂解得到精制甲醛，然后在催化剂作用下进行液相聚合，聚合后用醋酐酯化封端。均聚甲醛的结晶度高，分子量分布较窄。其产品相对密度约为1.4，熔点为170-185℃，特点是有优异的刚性，拉伸强度可达68.9MPa，具有优异的刚性，拉伸强度高，单位质量的拉伸强度高于锌和黄铜，接近钢材，而且耐磨性能好、耐疲劳强度和蠕变性均好，摩擦系数小，但是热稳定性差、不耐酸碱。
