tasting notesmid ruby in colour. the nose is complex showing ripe dark fruits, prunes, plums, dark cherries accented by a smoky lift from barrel fermentation. the palate is soft and generous with ripe, sweet, dark fruit characters filling the mouth. the tannins are supple and finely grained giving depth and length to the mouth-feel. soft acidity and good fruit weight make this wine suitable for early drinking while retaining enough structure for mid-term cellaring.
cellaring potential 3 to 5 years, best to drink 2009 to 2014.
a wine to enjoy with game, lamb and poultry dishes, italian style food and vegetarian cuisine.
