离心机是处理钻井液中超细有害固相的关键设备，可分离和回收粒度大于5µm的固相，迅速恢复钻井液的密度等，从而提高钻井速度，是打深井和水平井理想的钻井液净化设备。本机主要用于控制钻井液的密度、粘度，降低钻井液的固相含量，清除有害固相、回收重晶石，以及对旋流器底进行二次回收以保证钻井液的优良性能，提高钻井速度。
