rf labels are not reusable after deactivaton since capacitors are destroyed bya strong electromagnetic field at the resonantfrequency. em labels are reusable which can be deactivated and reactivated by deactivator and activator. am labels can be deactivated and activated. but reactivation of am labels has to be made by special equipment with adequate magnetic field to guarantee acceptable performance. when goods are checked out, labels will be deactivated by deactivators. in lirbaries, em labels will be reactivated when books or other items are returned or checked in.

same as hard tags, selection of labels also depends on many factors.
