PPO的研究工作始于上世纪60年代初期,在70年代初我国研究PPO的单位有20多家,有的还进行了中试,但至今只有北京市化工研究院和上海合成树脂研究所可提供PPO 和改性产品。1989年利用北京市化工研究院技术在北京工程塑料厂建成了一套4000t/ a 的MPPO 的中试装置,但未能正常生产,处于停产状态。北京市化工研究院曾成功地开发了PPO 催化剂和一系列合金产品。上海合成树脂研究所也曾开发了PPO 小试技术,该所有一套500t/a的MPPO 装置, 用HIPS改性PPO,所需PPO原粉靠进口。

market development

PPO is mainly used in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. In recent years, China's large and small household appliances have developed rapidly. The consumption of MPPO in office and communication e, household appliances and automobile industry accounts for more than 80% of the total domestic consumption. During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, China has listed communications and automobile industry as pillar industries. In the next two or three years, the demand for PPO and its alloys in China will increase considerably. It is estimated that the demand for PPO alloys in China will reach 3.15 million tons by 2005. MPPO is the most expensive of the five general engineering plastics. Modified polyphenylene ether (MP2PO) sold in the plastic market in China is mainly the injection-grade product of GE Company in the United States. It has different uses and prices of different grades. The price of general-purpose products is lower, while the price of MP2PO used in automobile and other fields is higher. At present, the market price is 3,1500-38,000 yuan/t. PPO and its alloys are a kind of new engineering plastics with great development prospects. At present, the production capacity of PPO and its alloys in China is only 100 tons, while the demand has exceeded 10,000 tons, and the domestic production capacity is seriously inadequate. The main reason why PPO and its alloy industry in China has not been developed for a long time is that the investment from development to the formation of industrial production scale is not enough, which makes the engineering and technical problems existing in the process of industrialization enlargement difficult to solve. According to the current situation, there is no plan for foreign enterprises to build joint ventures in China. While actively seeking to introduce foreign advanced technology, we still need to strengthen the development of our own technology and strive for the early completion of large-scale industrial installations.
