良好的渗透性，使磨削液能及时渗入到磨削区形成润滑膜，以降低阻力和摩擦系数。磨削液良好的润滑作用可减小摩擦和功率消耗刀具磨损，以获得较好的工作表面质量。

清洗作用：cleaning effect:

含有表面活性剂，可在工件表面上形成吸附膜，吸附各种污染物粒子，阻止其粘附在工件和刀具上，可大大降低工件在加工过程中切屑、铁粉、磨屑、油污、沙粒黏附在工件、刀具或砂轮的表面及缝隙中，使刀具或砂轮的切削刃口变钝放缓，不至于影响到切、磨削效果。

防锈作用：rust-proof role

使工件表面形成一种防锈膜与空气直接隔绝，不改变工件表面介质，避免工件氧化，延长防锈时间。
