本机适用于硫化各种橡胶塑料模型制品和非模型制品。
该机为柱式和框式二种结构、，压制形式为下压式（向上）。柱塞在工作液压力作用下上升使热板闭合得压，柱塞下降（即热板开启）靠热板、平台及柱塞自重，驱使工作液流回储油箱，达到下降（即开启）的目的。
本机的油缸由球墨铸铁制成，提高了油缸的受压强度和耐磨性。油缸中放置有用耐油橡胶制成的密封圈，在本机工作中起密封作用。
组合油泵是本机工作的动力源，它供给具有一定压力的工作液。工作液经控制阀进入油缸，将控制阀上的操纵手柄拨到不同的位置，柱塞即可上升或下降。
本机可采用管状电加热元件加热，不需要锅炉，可减少空气污染，保持车间清洁；为达到节能效果，也可以用蒸汽或导热油加热（定做时要求）
